Why switch from WR to QB?
|
" I decided to make the switch from WR to QB, because our QB from last year isnt playing this year. Myself and the other recievers had a tight bond and had built great chemistry with him. I felt that it would be odd trying to build chemistry with another QB. I thought trying a new postion would be challenging to me and would motivate me to work as hard as i can to be successful."

What is your outlook for the Roughnecks in 2010?

" I think that the 2010 season has potential to be a good one. We have been fortunate in the past to have winningl seasons and hopefully this one will be the same. The turnout was good this year and as long as stay on the same page and come together, we will continue the trend. "

Taking over a leadership role is important to a QB. What type of leadership do you offer?
|
" I feel that my teammates respect me because they know and see how much work i put in not only in the offseason but during season. Leadership at the QB postion is very important because guys want to know that they can count on you as much as you count on them. If you lose the respect of your teammates and the guys that are blocking for you then your left with nothing. I feel that i can be a vocal in your face type of leader if needed to but for the most part I think I am a lead by example type of player."

What can the Roughnecks do for their community?

" The Roughnecks players are guys from the community that have lived here went to high school here and played sports around the area for years. Many of us participate around the community wether it be volunteer work of coaching YAFL or other sports, and its a good thing for the community to understand that this group of guys enjoy being looked up to by the kids and being productive members of the community. "

" Tough question, but I'm a go for the gusto kind of guy. Im sending my big boys out wide Dustin and maybe Justin, and try to use their height to my advantage. Im bringing my slots in a little tight to give them more room to work with. I take my time to look over the defense and see what kind of look the corners are giving my wide outs. If we got inside leverage my guys know what to do foot fire fake inside and to the back corner, money in the bank. If not run the corners to the back of the end zone wich gives my slots room to work with on an out route. If nothings open on the dropback, I'm tucking and going! I feel sorry for anyone in my path. I duck the head and go through them. Either way, Roughnecks win!" |
