Team ownership was informed Saturday night that the Roughneck season is over by former Head Coach Chris Kovacs. He explained that he, his staff & the football team "we're done".

I have cancelled all future games & events and recommended to the other teams in NM that the Wolfpack be allowed to take the place of the NMPFL Champions so that they may continue to compete for the opportunity to represent NM in a possible national title game.

Two players from the Four Corners Roughnecks made an appearance on Wednesday, May 19th at Country Club Elementary. #99 Kenneth Drake and #75 Jason Quigley talked to the third, fourth and fifth graders about the importance of staying physically fit, having good sportsmanship, and what to do if they are picked on or bullied at school. Before they started their speech they had  a contest to see which one of them would be an honorary eagle. On stage in front of 130 kids these two grown men had a race to see who could unroll two rolls of toilet paper faster. It was a tight race, Kenneth came out slightly ahead of Jason, it was so close that the teacher declared them both Country Club Eagles. Kenneth talked to the kids about getting out and exercising over the summer break. He also told them to take advantage of the education provided to them, he said " there are kids all over the world that wish they could have what you guys do".His main message was that their future has not been written yet, that they have the power to make any dream a reality. Jason talked to the kids about how to handle a bullying situation, and about his football career including his time spent playing ball at the University of Utah where he earned his engineering degree. After the speech Kenneth and Jason participated in a good ol' game of dodge ball with the fifth graders. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the students or the Roughnecks. The Four Corners Roughnecks are always ready to help our community out and these two players are prime examples of what the organization is all about.

Country Club Elementary will be having their field day on May 24th, and would like some players to participate in the fun. If you are interested in volunteering for this please contact Heather at Roughnecks@RSports.com.
